two in one...

Two posts in one day!

I had a fabulous great day teaching 6th grade!  They were easy to deal with, we did very little, and I had a blast!  It did semi-reassure me that if I had a choice whether to choose to teach 6th grade or not, I would not pick 6th grade.... a little TOO independent for my liking.  However, if I get offered a 6th grade teaching position, it becomes a whole new story!  I would most definitely teach 6th grade!

On another note... something is brewing in my life... a more eager/confident side in me is coming out.  That's all I am going to say for now.

However, I will say this.  What Wes said in his sermon on Sunday about allowing God do do miracles in our life and let him take control in all aspects... and he does mean ALL.... really spoke to me.  I like to control things and if things aren't going my way... I like to MAKE them have an outcome.  So, I am letting go and letting God.

Oh, and I am also going to Arizona on Saturday.  Can I get a Hallelujah for some sunshine?

Stellan

Please get down on your knees and pray for baby Stellan.  I remember finding Jennifer's blog last year when she was pregnant with Stellan and praying for his life back then.  Once again, we need to pray for the healing that is going to do the most good and last the longest; whatever that may be.  Praying for MckMama and family.... www.mycharmingkids.net

excited!... and nervous...

Tomorrow I am teaching a 6th grade class... all on my own... in a building I have never been in... with a staff that I don't know... oh my goodness...

I am super excited but also super nevous.

It will be good.

Great.

Here I come :)

It's been a while...

My life has been a crazy series of important events... and blogging has taken the back burner!

1.)  I finished student teaching.  It was, by far, the best and most challenging 7 months of my life.  I left my heart in room 111 with my 26 students and 1 very important mentor.

2.)  I was offered a long-term sub position!  I will begin working, right NEXT DOOR to 111 in room 110.  I could not be more excited to meet my 25 2nd graders at the door every morning!

3.) I finished up my last class at SPU.  Until I decide to get my Master's, I am DONE with college.

4.) I started subbing for other teachers.  Slightly scary, because I don't know the kids, the school, the staff... but overall a good experience.  Can't WAIT until I do a high school class. :)

5.)  Had my first experience with being treated poorly because of my age.  It was rude and inconsiderate of a fellow staff member who didn't think that I was 'qualified' to chaperon junior high students.  I'm letting it go...

6.)  I have fallen in love with my new church.  Leaving CKPC was tough, very tough.  But coming to newlife and finding a true passion and fire for Jesus is amazing.

7.) I am going to ARIZONA!  Spring Break 09 means fulfilling one of my life long goals... MARINER'S SPRING TRAINING.  Oh yes.  Emily and I leave on Saturday and will have a week of glorious warm sunny weather and lots and lots of BASEBALL.

8.)  I have gotten 5 wedding invitations.  Now, don't get me wrong, I LOVE weddings.  I cry all all of them and I love going.  However.... I HATE going alone.  It's like singles awareness notification when you have to check the box '1' for how many guests.  Maybe I can find someone to go with me? :)

9.) My little brother turned 15.  One more year and he can date.  In a few months, he will be driving.  Oh my.

10.)  I have returned to blogging!  Hopefully with this new classroom and less pressure of being a 'student' teacher, I will keep up on it.  I am thinking lots of updates on some of my silly kids.

reflection... on good things!

This has been a GREAT week!

Friday my kids were wonderful, and I just about melt every time I look at them.  It crushes me to think that in a few short weeks I will have to leave them... let's not talk about that part yet.  Right now I am just focusing on my math transition.  This week was long division, this coming week is fractions!  That is why I am brushing up on those things... today.

Emily came over to see me yesterday and we had a fun girlie day... coffee shop talk... movies... dinner... movies again... oh, and yes... a stop at a certain shop...

I met someone!.. .well, technically I already knew him... but there has been some odd tension between the two of us... and because I have ZERO experience in this field, asked Em what she thought... and its official... I kind of like this guy... we shall see what happens this week... :)

And then today, it was decided that I am going to ARIZONA for Spring Break!  and the best part... the Seattle Mariners are only going to be 1 mile away from where I will be staying.  Spring Training is where you can find me the last week in March.  Oh yes.

Well, back to planning... I actually don't mind it that much... gets me excited for my very own classroom next fall! :)

first week back.

It's Friday... which is the best news EVER.  This was the first week back to school and I truly realized how much I missed all of my kiddos.  I miss their little smiles, their interesting stories, their personalities, side conversations, sneakiness, and their love for life.

Three of my boys have crushes on me... They are the most adorable things ever.  I love 4th grade boys... they have so much live and excitement and nothing really phases them.

Thomas grabbed my hand today because he wanted me to sit down with him and help him... just about melted my heart.

I think its good to be back mostly to help fill the hole in my life right now.  I know that I shouldn't fill it with things like food or people or books, and that I really should fill that hole with my savior but right now I'm not exactly sure how to do that.  I'm working on that part.  So right now, I am being fully distracted with the exhausting but wonderful life of a teacher.

Emily is coming tomorrow for a fun girlie day which includes our newest past time: TWILIGHT.  Oh yes.

Even though I have all of this going on... there is still part of me that is lonely... bottom of my soul lonely... we'll see what happens with that.
