It's been a while...

My life has been a crazy series of important events... and blogging has taken the back burner!

1.)  I finished student teaching.  It was, by far, the best and most challenging 7 months of my life.  I left my heart in room 111 with my 26 students and 1 very important mentor.

2.)  I was offered a long-term sub position!  I will begin working, right NEXT DOOR to 111 in room 110.  I could not be more excited to meet my 25 2nd graders at the door every morning!

3.) I finished up my last class at SPU.  Until I decide to get my Master's, I am DONE with college.

4.) I started subbing for other teachers.  Slightly scary, because I don't know the kids, the school, the staff... but overall a good experience.  Can't WAIT until I do a high school class. :)

5.)  Had my first experience with being treated poorly because of my age.  It was rude and inconsiderate of a fellow staff member who didn't think that I was 'qualified' to chaperon junior high students.  I'm letting it go...

6.)  I have fallen in love with my new church.  Leaving CKPC was tough, very tough.  But coming to newlife and finding a true passion and fire for Jesus is amazing.

7.) I am going to ARIZONA!  Spring Break 09 means fulfilling one of my life long goals... MARINER'S SPRING TRAINING.  Oh yes.  Emily and I leave on Saturday and will have a week of glorious warm sunny weather and lots and lots of BASEBALL.

8.)  I have gotten 5 wedding invitations.  Now, don't get me wrong, I LOVE weddings.  I cry all all of them and I love going.  However.... I HATE going alone.  It's like singles awareness notification when you have to check the box '1' for how many guests.  Maybe I can find someone to go with me? :)

9.) My little brother turned 15.  One more year and he can date.  In a few months, he will be driving.  Oh my.

10.)  I have returned to blogging!  Hopefully with this new classroom and less pressure of being a 'student' teacher, I will keep up on it.  I am thinking lots of updates on some of my silly kids.

reflection... on good things!

This has been a GREAT week!

Friday my kids were wonderful, and I just about melt every time I look at them.  It crushes me to think that in a few short weeks I will have to leave them... let's not talk about that part yet.  Right now I am just focusing on my math transition.  This week was long division, this coming week is fractions!  That is why I am brushing up on those things... today.

Emily came over to see me yesterday and we had a fun girlie day... coffee shop talk... movies... dinner... movies again... oh, and yes... a stop at a certain shop...

I met someone!.. .well, technically I already knew him... but there has been some odd tension between the two of us... and because I have ZERO experience in this field, asked Em what she thought... and its official... I kind of like this guy... we shall see what happens this week... :)

And then today, it was decided that I am going to ARIZONA for Spring Break!  and the best part... the Seattle Mariners are only going to be 1 mile away from where I will be staying.  Spring Training is where you can find me the last week in March.  Oh yes.

Well, back to planning... I actually don't mind it that much... gets me excited for my very own classroom next fall! :)

first week back.

It's Friday... which is the best news EVER.  This was the first week back to school and I truly realized how much I missed all of my kiddos.  I miss their little smiles, their interesting stories, their personalities, side conversations, sneakiness, and their love for life.

Three of my boys have crushes on me... They are the most adorable things ever.  I love 4th grade boys... they have so much live and excitement and nothing really phases them.

Thomas grabbed my hand today because he wanted me to sit down with him and help him... just about melted my heart.

I think its good to be back mostly to help fill the hole in my life right now.  I know that I shouldn't fill it with things like food or people or books, and that I really should fill that hole with my savior but right now I'm not exactly sure how to do that.  I'm working on that part.  So right now, I am being fully distracted with the exhausting but wonderful life of a teacher.

Emily is coming tomorrow for a fun girlie day which includes our newest past time: TWILIGHT.  Oh yes.

Even though I have all of this going on... there is still part of me that is lonely... bottom of my soul lonely... we'll see what happens with that.

I think my heart is lonely.

look... I'm back so soon!

In trying to be more faithful to my blogging, I am going to enter right now.  Mostly because since I have been on break I can't sleep, so I am up right now... blogging.

I think I need to slow down.  My whole life I have been going at warp speed.  Walking at 8 months... kindergarten at 4... never mind, let's put her in 1st grade even though she is only 4!... going to college in high school... becoming a teacher while I am still a teenager... for the most part I think my life is on fast forward.

Well, I am no 20.  20 years old.  And I think, in my head, I feel like I should be either a) about 15 again... or b) about 25.  Most of the time, I think I should be about 25, married to a great guy, and have a child on the way.  But then I remember, I JUST turned 20.  Yep... 20.

I want, SO badly, to have a man in my life that is special.  Yes, a boyfriend.  Trust me, God and I have had quite a few talks about this one.  I've waited... never had one... read all the books... talked with people... seen experiences I DON'T want by looking at some of my peers... I feel like I am a nice person... yet NOTHING.

Nope.

Nothing.

Not even a single person.

Now, that being said, I am not the greatest at going out and searching!  Not that I am 20, that sort of helps... I'm no longer a teenager (I was still a teenager!...I can't believe it...) but my life is TOO BUSY FOR A LOVE LIFE.  I have to keep telling myself that.  Where would I find the time?!?!  I keep telling myself... I have enough on my plate... such as

professors
teaching
parents
siblings
26 children I have to teach
my life
my friends
and blogging :)

Where would I squeeze in a relationship?  I just know I could though... and it would be great.  I want a man in my life.  Sometime somewhat soon.  Okay... now.

But, I still wait.  And I am OK with that... most of the time :)  I really am though.  I have my Lord and my Savior who is the man I am so deeply in love with and whom I am learning to put my whole life into so that I can worship him as he should be worshiped... giving fully of myself to him.  And that is all I need.

I'm learning... a work in progress... and hopefully will always be!  It would be nice though to have someone to learn WITH.  As in WITH me... next to me... I guess I will continue patiently waiting.
Well, it's now WAY past my bedtime... and I was planning on getting up early tomorrow... now that is NOT going to happen... oh well.  I'm on break.. right?

More to come... and it feels great to be back.

I am going to try and be more faithful

I have not been a good blogger.  I am good at following other blogs... but updating mine... not so much.  Must be because my life is consumed by many people these days.  They include my mother, father, 3 brothers, friends, my mentor teacher, professors, and oh yeah... 26 children.

I am going to try and update this more often so that I can have some sort of documentation of my life as a student teacher. I love my kids more than anything... sometimes they try my patience, but most of the time I just want to take them all home.

Pray for Gabe, Brendon, Brandon, Kylea, and Jorden... these are some of my kids that I think need it the most. :)

Let's see if I can do better... I shall try.

a very long time ago, I blogged.

I realize that I haven't been on here in quite some time.  Funny thing is, I get quite annoyed when other blogs I read are not updated on a daily basis.  However, my life has been full of being a teacher, and I LOVE IT.  So, now I am going to settle in and watch one episode of Season 4 Grey's Anatomy which I got on DVD in preparation for Thursday's 2 hour season premier of Season 5.

School starts next week and I am dreading every minute of it. Which is why I am spending so much time enjoying no reponsibility right now and staying under my covers as much as possible. :)
